Professional Statement

Dr. Caruso received his Bachelor and Master degrees in Civil/Structural Engineering from Cooper Union, New York City. He graduated from New York Medical College with a Medical Doctorate, and followed with an orthopaedic residency at Health Science in Brooklyn, NY. He later completed an Orthopaedic Trauma and Reconstruction fellowship at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. His orthopaedic interests including non unions and malunions, pelvic and acetabulum fractures, and all complex fractures, including periarticular fractures. He has a particular interest in osteopenia and osteoporosis, aimed at bone health and prevention of fragility fractures.

Dr. Caruso authored many peer reviewed articles and textbook chapters, most in the field of orthopaedic biomechanics. He believes that “form equals function.” His surgical goal is to restore patient anatomy which translates to better function long-term.
